Our Vision
Our vision is for Beacon’s public schools to be at the leading edge in creating a learning environment in which all students are able to find and cultivate their talents, live purposeful, fulfilling, and vibrant lives, and carry their gifts into the future.
The goals of the foundation are to:
Fund and evaluate innovative pilot projects and events that enhance student learning and enrichment;
Facilitate collaboration between BCSD, the community, and local and regional organizations to strengthen educational and occupational opportunities for students;
Foster strong community involvement and support for public education in Beacon.
The Foundation’s primary areas of focus are:
• The Arts, Sciences, and the Humanities
• Diversity of Our Community
• Local and Global Citizenship
• College and Career Readiness
The Foundation for Beacon Schools achieves this mission through the following activities:
• Innovation grants for BCSD faculty
• Funding special initiatives that enhance the student learning experience
• Community events that strengthen ties to Beacon’s schools
• Strategic partnerships with local and regional organizations that support Beacon’s schools
2022 Annual Report
The Foundation for Beacon Schools’ first full year of programming featured a range of events, fundraisers, and teacher grants in support of our mission.
From the 1st annual BCSD Student Film Festival to our inaugural gala, the Foundation team worked around the clock to connect supporters of education to our teachers and students to enable new and enriching learning experiences.
